Join the Scottish Rite Temple in Rochester

When you were initiated into Freemasonry, you professed a desire to become “wiser, better and consequently happier.” We endeavor to aid in that effort at our Scottish Rite Temple in Rochester.

The Scottish Rite is the “University of Freemasonry,” and through our Degree conferrals we teach many valuable lessons, which have been passed down to us through the ages. These lessons give our members the valuable tools to become better informed and to be more conscious of what is really important in life. As these valuable lessons are portrayed, the past merges with the present and the great truths that are learned may be used now and in the future.

The Rochester Valley offers an extended degree conferral period, which begins in the fall and ends in the spring. During this time, all of the Degrees of the Scottish Rite are conferred or communicated. These degrees are followed by facilitated study, wherein the leaders discuss present information and materials and answer questions that naturally emerge out of the experience.

We encourage you to become an active member of your Blue Lodge and join our community. It takes people like you to continue the important work of our beloved Fraternity.

First steps

Your first important step towards membership in the Rochester Valley is to complete and submit the petition for membership.

After completion of the form, you may mail it or bring it directly to the Rochester Valley Scottish Rite office. If you know a Rochester Valley member (or two) that you wish to have sign your petition, you may have them sign it before sending it in to the office.

The National Scottish Rite office also offers additional resources, available here.
